The fourth day of InvestChile Week took place in Berlin, Germany, with Mining Undersecretary Suina Chahuán and InvestChile Director Karla Flores leading discussions with German mining suppliers. The agenda included a roundtable discussion where they presented an overview of the mining sector, plans for future projects, and opportunities for extracting and adding value to critical minerals.
Chilean Ambassador to Germany Magdalena Atria, InvestChile Investment Commissioner for Germany Vanessa Séverin, and Head of the Investment Promotion Division Salvatore Di Giovanni also attended the meeting. Economy Minister Nicolás Grau contributed via a pre-recorded message. The event aimed to share the Chilean Economy Ministry’s strategy to diversify companies in Chile’s mining industry.
During the event, Karla Flores signed a cooperation agreement with Andreas Jahn from the Bundesverband mittelständischer Wirtschaft (BVMW), Germany’s largest association of SMEs. This agreement is intended to promote investment-driven economic relations between Germany and Chile and foster collaboration between both parties.
Flores stated, “This cooperation agreement will bring us closer to German companies and add a new partner in promoting Chile as an investment destination. The idea is to undertake joint initiatives and connect the interests of the association’s more than 900,000 members with the opportunities and services InvestChile promotes.”
InvestChile Week Europe will continue its activities tomorrow in Zurich and Berlin before proceeding to Italy for events in Milan and Rome.
