The Corporación Eléctrica del Ecuador (CELEC EP) will carry out scheduled maintenance at the Santo Domingo substation on Sunday, January 18, 2026. The work is being managed by CELEC EP’s Transelectric Business Unit and will take place in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
According to CELEC EP, the goal of this maintenance is to improve electricity service quality and ensure continuous supply for more than 638,972 residents in the cantons of Santo Domingo, La Concordia, El Carmen, and Puerto Quito. The maintenance activities will include cleaning equipment installed in the substation yards.
The planned work will require a temporary restriction of electric service from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in several areas. Affected locations include the cantons of Santo Domingo and La Concordia in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas; El Carmen in Manabí; and Puerto Quito in Pichincha.
