633 families in Ecuador are set to receive new homes following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) and the Public Housing and Urban Development Company EP. The agreement, valued at $17.4 million, will fund the construction of 633 social interest homes on land owned by beneficiaries and provide incentives for implementing services nationwide.

The project involves preparing basic engineering studies, approving housing types, and managing construction within a 12-month period. According to officials, this initiative aims to improve living conditions for vulnerable populations by providing free, adequate housing.

“These housing solutions will have the technical criteria and dimensions established by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) through its current legal regulations, with the goal of providing appropriate spaces for beneficiaries,” said ministry representatives.

The MIT also plans to coordinate with local governments to ensure long-term sustainability of these interventions and expand access to home ownership for more Ecuadorian families.
