TV Azteca hires a new CEO

Benjamin Salinas Sada, an entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience in media and related enterprises, recently was named the new CEO of TV Azteca based in Mexico.

Sara will replace Mario San Roman, who is now the vice chairman of the board, and has the responsibility of executing strategic projects and advising the CEO. Roman had held the position of CEO since 2004.

TV Azteca, one of the two largest producers of Spanish-language television programming in the world, appointed Sada with the goal of enhancing its market position and making the company more successful within a competitive landscape that boasts major technological developments and innovative content. In addition to having extensive knowledge of the media industry and broadcast television, he has experience creating innovative concepts that have appealed to large audiences and younger individuals.

"There is a new generation of viewers seeking bold content, an audience that wants to be surprised; TV Azteca will thrill millions with creativity, intelligence and work," Sada said. "We will continue strengthening one of the largest producers of content in the world; renewing ourselves constantly, with very up-to-date formats."

TV Azteca is owned by Grupo Salinas, a company that was founded by Sada's father.
