International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, which operates an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was chosen recently to advise Seaborn Networks on financing for a $500 million project to install a submarine communications cable to link New York and Sao Paulo. U.N. secretary: Latin America integration would strengthen trade presence

World Bank reports Latin American poverty rate has dropped to 5.6 percent

Poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean declined to 5.6 percent of its population in 2014 compared with 6.2 percent in 2012, according to data released this week by World Bank President Jim Yong Kim who is in Peru for the World Bank-IMF annual meetings.
