Sociedad Rural Argentina announced on Apr. 24 that it has encountered significant problems with a software development contract, resulting in operational setbacks and the need for judicial mediation.

The announcement highlights the importance of transparency and diligence in managing projects that affect members across the country. The organization said its goal was to provide regular and adequate service but faced difficulties due to delays, incomplete deliveries, technical errors, and unfulfilled commitments from the software provider.

According to Sociedad Rural Argentina, a strategic plan launched in December 2021 aimed at modernizing systems led to selecting Mobile Computing S.A. as a provider in April 2023. Despite legal warnings from Estudio Cassagne about contractual risks, the agreement proceeded with an expected nine-month timeline. The project experienced leadership changes, renegotiations without full legal review, and repeated delays.

By September 2025—over two years after signing—the new system was launched but immediately showed serious functional failures. An external audit was requested in January 2026 to clarify responsibilities and suggest solutions. The organization said key technical staff resigned during this process while the provider refused further cooperation with auditors.

Currently, Sociedad Rural Argentina is engaged in judicial mediation before taking additional legal steps to protect its interests. The entity noted that all participants involved in designing or implementing the system have since left their roles by choice.

In response to these challenges, Sociedad Rural Argentina is implementing contingency plans to maintain operations while reaffirming its commitment “with responsible administration, continuous improvement of processes and defense of members’ interests.”
