Sociedad Rural Argentina held its first expanded board meeting of 2026 on April 28, bringing together directors and district delegates for a work session centered on the productive realities of the region.
The event aimed to foster discussion and exchange among participants about current challenges in agriculture. The gathering included both internal sessions and an open forum with local producers.
In the afternoon, an open session featured technical and economic topics relevant to the sector. Marcelo Duetta, an agronomist from INTA Quimilí, delivered a presentation on spiroplasma and chicharrita. Juan Manuel Garzón, chief economist at IERAL of Fundación Mediterránea, analyzed provincial and national tax situations, export duties, and sector competitiveness.
The meeting concluded with a dialogue led by Nicolás Pino, president of Sociedad Rural Argentina, alongside José Manubens, president of Sociedad Rural de Quimilí. They engaged local producers in discussions about current affairs as well as the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture.
Participants highlighted the importance of these exchanges for addressing ongoing developments in the sector.
