Technology company Savcor recently upgraded its Suzano Pulp and Paper’s anodic protection system in Brazil.

Pulp and Paper is investing in the much-needed upgrade of the Savcor Anodic Protection System in the digester 1 of its Mucuri Unit in Bahia, Brazil. The execution is planned to take place in November.

The Anodic Protection System was installed in 1994. Since its installation, the system has been working to prevent the corrosion of the digester.

“With the investment, the protection of the digester will be based in modern technology, allowing Suzano to continue ensuring the maximum availability and lifetime of the digester, supporting production demands,” José Alexandre de Morais, industrial director of Suzano Pulp and Paper, told Latin Business Daily.

The upgrades to the anodic protection system include the replacement of internal protection elements in the digester (cathodes and sensors), new power units and a modern control unit.
