Officials from the Red Eureka network visited Corfo and other Chilean institutions in late March to strengthen international cooperation in strategic sectors such as green hydrogen, lithium, and shipbuilding. The visit included meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a tour of startuplab.01, and concluded with the “Eureka Day” event at Nido Lucía in Santiago Centro.
The purpose of this agenda was to deepen collaboration between Chile and the global innovation community through Red Eureka, an international organization that supports research, development, and innovation projects. More than 50 representatives from Chile’s innovation ecosystem attended the closing event to discuss opportunities for internationalization, co-investment, and collaborative research projects.
Founded in 1985, Red Eureka brings together over 47 member countries to facilitate market-oriented research partnerships. Chile participates through Corfo and is one of few Latin American nations active in this platform. During a meeting on March 23 between Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna and Marc Pauchard, president of Red Eureka, both parties discussed ways to connect more local companies with strategic partners abroad. “The future is played out in ideas, innovation and technology. That is why we want to make Chile a hub for human capital development,” said Pérez Mackenna during their meeting.
The delegation also met with various Corfo managers who outlined efforts supporting industrial sophistication aimed at decarbonization goals as well as resilience against climate change. They reviewed roadmaps for key sectors like green hydrogen (H2V), lithium production, industrialized wood construction, and shipbuilding—areas identified as high-potential fields for further collaboration.
A technical visit was made to Reborn Electric Motors in O’Higgins Region—a company focused on sustainable mobility—and startuplab.01 led by Corfo and Fundación Chile that supports clean technology ventures.
At “Eureka Day,” beneficiaries of Corfo’s innovation programs met directly with network representatives including Marc Pauchard who said: “We are very happy to be here in Chile… We value deeply the strong relationship built over more than ten years.” The session also highlighted results from Chile’s participation during 2022-2025 along with announcements about upcoming biotechnology project calls and incentives for national participation at the Global Innovation Summit scheduled for Basel.
