The National Government, through the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture (MINEDEC), announced on March 16 that it has extended the application period for the Because He Is Nice 2026 scholarship program until March 27. The extension aims to provide more opportunities for citizens to participate and to continue strengthening the country’s human talent.

The initiative offers over 150,000 free scholarships for English language learning as part of a public policy focused on expanding access to continuing education programs and enhancing skills in an increasingly competitive global environment.

With the extended application deadline, the government seeks to allow more Ecuadorians to benefit from this program. Interested individuals can register through the official portal: https://educontinua.minedec.gob.ec.

Training will be conducted entirely online, lasting between 90 and 100 hours over eight weeks. This format enables professionals, students, and other citizens to continue their work or academic activities while improving their English proficiency.

Applicants must meet several minimum requirements: be over 18 years old; hold a high school diploma registered with MINEDEC; have no impediment to carrying out public procedures; not have previously failed a scholarship program; not have defaulted on an educational loan; and possess an active email address.

This call is part of what officials describe as the largest human talent strengthening strategy in Ecuador’s history. During President Daniel Noboa’s administration, more than 483,000 scholarships and financial aid packages have been awarded across various national programs.
