President Daniel Noboa Azin delivered nine homes on April 14 as part of the Terrenova Urbanization housing project in Guayas. The event marked progress in the government’s “Credicasa” and “Miti-Miti” programs, which offer preferential interest rates of 2.99% and 4.99%, respectively, with a total of more than 3,029 families expected to benefit from the project across nine phases.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the government to address housing needs and expand opportunities for Ecuadorians. During the ceremony, Noboa said his administration is committed to fulfilling promises made to citizens, including providing access to home ownership. “Este es el año de la construcción, es el año de las oportunidades para nuestra gente,” said Noboa.

Pedro Coello, one of the beneficiaries who received a new home during this phase, described his experience with the program as efficient and timely. “Tantos años arrendando y ahora vivir en una zona con seguridad es un sueño hecho realidad,” Coello said.

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Roberto Luque also spoke at the event about ongoing efforts to make home ownership more accessible for those who cannot afford full payment but do not qualify for fully subsidized housing. He explained that processes are being simplified so that these individuals can receive financial support: “se están flexibilizando los trámites para que el segmento dos -gente que no puede tener una casa 100% gratis, pero que le es difícil llegar a pagar la letra total, pueda recibir un bono.” Luque added that public-private partnerships are being encouraged through tax incentives introduced by President Noboa and approved by the National Assembly. “Hoy es una realidad y hará que entreguemos casas mucho más rápido,” he said.

Noboa emphasized his administration’s focus on comprehensive well-being for Ecuadorians: “Aquí en Guayas ya hemos entregado 2.669 hogares y más de 11.019 en todo el Ecuador. Y no vamos a parar.” He attributed these achievements to measures such as VAT refunds for builders and legislation promoting private sector donations toward housing construction.

In addition to addressing unfinished infrastructure projects in Guayas province, Noboa highlighted job creation—over 320,000 jobs—and support for entrepreneurs through more than USD $78 million distributed nationwide alongside over 170,000 scholarships awarded across Ecuador. Concluding his remarks at the event, he stated: “Estamos transformando la vida de los ecuatorianos y juntos estamos construyendo el país que nos merecemos.”
