Ogilvy Public Relations this week acquired a majority stake in ConceptPR, a Brazilian public relations and digital content firm.

Founded in 2012 by former journalists Eduardo Vieira and Ricardo Cesar, ConceptPR unites corporate communications, and digital and social media. The firm specializes in “Guerrilla PR.” Its clients include Brazilian and global brands such as Mondelez, Oakley, JBS, Ultragaz and Metrô São Paulo.

Ogilvy is a wholly owned subsidiary of WPP. Its clients include American Express, Brand USA, Coca-Cola, Embratur, LG Electronics and Twitter, Inc.

“ConceptPR’s creativity and digital credentials will further empower Ogilvy PR to deliver creative, effective and integrated communication programs for our clients in the Brazilian market,”  Renata Saraiva, managing director of Ogilvy PR Brazil, said. “We are very excited about welcoming the vibrant team of ConceptPR into the Ogilvy family. And we are confident that we’ll do great things together.”

The combined business will operate as Ogilvy Public Relations.

“The match between Ogilvy PR and ConceptPR is perfect since it combines one of the most respected and recognized brands in modern, creative and integrated communications with a young and disruptive firm,” Vieira said. “I believe Ogilvy PR is off to a new era in the Brazilian market.”
