The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture is moving forward with its teacher selection process for General Basic Education (EGB) positions covering grades two through seven. The current stage involves practical evaluations where finalists must deliver a demonstration class.
This selection process is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the teaching profession and ensure that highly qualified candidates join the public education system. A total of 11,190 professionals initially registered for the competition, with 4,864 advancing to the final stage and participating in practical assessments.
During this phase, each candidate presents a 45-minute lesson related to their area of specialization. These sessions are fully recorded using Microsoft Teams to maintain transparency throughout the evaluation. Afterward, candidates participate in an in-person interview lasting up to 15 minutes. This interview assesses curriculum knowledge, teaching strategies, lesson planning, and classroom management skills. The practical evaluations are scheduled from February 23 to February 27, 2026.
A panel oversees this phase, consisting of a school authority figure, a peer teacher, and a parent representative. This structure aims to promote participation and shared responsibility in the assessment process. The scoring system allocates up to 25 points: institutional authorities can award up to 12 points; peer teachers up to 10 points; and parent representatives up to three points.
Candidates receive their results immediately via email as registered on the application platform. Those wishing to request a review may do so between March 6 and March 12, 2026.
The Ministry emphasizes that all procedures related to this competition are free of charge and reaffirms its commitment “to meritocracy, transparency and strengthening quality education for children across the country.”
