A total of 32,542 students from the provinces of Manabí and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas have officially graduated as high school graduates in Ecuador. Of these, 24,228 are from Manabí and 8,314 from Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. The majority of the graduates—26,019—attended public schools, while 1,195 were from faith-based institutions, 52 from municipal schools, and 5,276 from private schools.
Maximiliano Nuñez Tomaselli, Zonal Coordinator for Education, Sports and Culture, stated: “Today not only do we celebrate a graduation. We celebrate the perseverance of thousands of young people who decided not to give up. Each graduate represents the hope of our provinces and the certainty that education transforms realities.”
María Mayte Ramos Miguez was recognized as the top graduate in Unified General Baccalaureate in Sciences at Unidad Educativa Charapotó. She said: “This achievement is not only mine; it belongs to my family, my teachers and those who believed in me. Today we close a chapter but our dreams are just beginning. We want to continue preparing ourselves to contribute to the development of our province and country.”
Graduation ceremonies are taking place across various districts until March 11.
The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture reiterated its commitment to strengthening inclusive and quality education with a rights-based approach throughout all stages of student development. The ministry emphasized that each new graduate opens doors to more opportunities.
