The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture announced on March 16 a call for professionals to apply for the position of Environmental and Social Specialist within the Executing Unit of the Annual Educational Investment Program. The aim is to strengthen environmental and social management in educational sector projects.

This opportunity is open to candidates with a third-level degree registered in SNIESE, in fields related to the environment such as ecology, environmental management, renewable natural resources, renewable energies, or environmental biotechnology. Applicants must have at least eight years of general experience in environmental topics and a minimum of two years specifically working on projects connected to environmental and social issues, particularly those funded by multilateral organizations.

Key requirements include knowledge of legal regulations under the National Education System and the Organic Code of Planning and Public Finance. Experience is also required in preparing and overseeing environmental impact studies, audits, regulatory compliance, and implementing management plans for infrastructure projects.

Interested individuals are instructed to verify they meet the profile requirements, complete a résumé matrix via an online link provided by the ministry, and submit their documents—including a résumé formatted for Encuentra Empleo and relevant certificates—in PDF format by email with the subject line “ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SPECIALIST OF THE EXECUTING UNIT – UEP” no later than March 19. The contract will be under professional services terms with work based in Quito.

The ministry said this recruitment process reaffirms its commitment to responsible execution of educational investment projects by incorporating environmental and social criteria that ensure sustainability and well-being for the educational community.
