The Más Comercio program, led by Uruguay XXI, announced on March 24 the launch of a new edition featuring a nationwide tour that will begin in Lavalleja and visit various locations across the country throughout 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen the export capabilities of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The program matters because it seeks to provide practical tools and support for companies looking to enter international markets, which can help drive business growth and benefit local communities.
The first workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at the Casa de la Cultura in Minas. This free event targets startups and companies interested in exploring export opportunities. Attendees will receive information about support programs, access to personalized mentoring, and guidance on how to start exporting.
After its kickoff in Lavalleja, Más Comercio plans to continue its tour with stops in Salto and Paysandú in April, Colonia in May, Rivera in July, Cerro Largo in August, with more departments yet to be announced. Since its inception in 2022, the program has visited all 19 departments twice, delivered 40 workshops, trained over 1,000 participants, provided around 130 mentoring sessions, and reported satisfaction rates above 90%. Its most recent edition concluded in Montevideo last year.
Claudia Peisino leads the initiative. “When a company exports,
it doesn’t just grow; its entire community grows with it. That impact is real,
and we see it in every department. Más Comercio helps make those first steps possible,” she said. She also stated: “Today,
the world is more connected than ever,
and exporting is no longer exclusive to large corporations,
but increasingly accessible to SMEs and startups ready to take that step.”
This workshop forms part of a broader decentralization strategy aimed at providing knowledge,
tools,
and support for goods and services companies across Uruguay with export potential.
With this new edition,
Más Comercio reaffirms its commitment to reaching businesses nationwide while adapting content for regional needs—supporting sustainable growth through internationalization.
