The Presidency of the Council of Ministers announced on March 1 that a team of Korean specialists visited Peru to support the implementation of the country’s Integrated State Document Management System (SGD Perú). The visit was organized by the Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation as part of an ongoing partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica).
This collaboration aims to improve document management within public institutions, reduce processing times, and strengthen transparency in the public sector. The technical mission is part of a non-reimbursable bilateral cooperation agreement between Peru and South Korea, which seeks to modernize state processes for millions of citizens.
According to officials, significant progress has been made in designing the new system, which will be rolled out progressively across government entities. All ministries participated in these activities, contributing to a coordinated approach for building nationwide digital platforms.
The SGD Perú will allow public agencies to digitize their entire document lifecycle using secure and standardized methods. This is expected to enable interoperability with other government platforms such as Mesa Digital Perú, Casilla Única Perú, ID GOB.PE, the State Interoperability Platform (PIDE), Firma Perú, and additional services. Officials say this integration will result in faster service for citizens.
Completion of SGD Perú is scheduled for 2027 under an inter-institutional cooperation agreement signed by Koica, the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI), and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers through its Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation.
The broader impact is anticipated to be greater efficiency and transparency throughout Peru’s public administration as digital transformation efforts continue.
