Interior Minister Diego Santilli met with Mendoza Governor Alfredo Cornejo to discuss shared issues between the national government and the province, as well as to advance the parliamentary agenda proposed by President Javier Milei for the upcoming regular sessions of Congress, according to an April 9 announcement.

The meeting took place on Friday, March 27, marking the beginning of a series of discussions that Santilli plans to hold with provincial leaders. The focus is on reviewing a package of laws that are part of the government’s legislative priorities.

Among these initiatives are proposals aimed at strengthening private property rights, establishing new eviction regulations, amending the Glacier Law—which has already been approved in the Senate—addressing rural land legislation, increasing penalties for certain offenses, and introducing new criminal categories related to migration.

These talks highlight ongoing coordination efforts between national and provincial authorities regarding legislative reforms. The outcome could affect legal frameworks in areas such as property rights and environmental policy.

Further meetings with other provincial governors are expected as part of this process.
