IBM recently launched a new cloud data center in Jundiaí, São Paulo, the company’s second such center in Brazil.
With a power rating of 2.8 megawatts, the new facility can accommodate 9,000 servers. It offers a full range of SoftLayer infrastructure services, including bare metal and virtual servers, storage, security services and networking. In addition, it follows Uptime Institute’s Tier III standard classification, which promises no shutdowns for equipment replacement and maintenance.
The new facility will offer cloud services to local companies as well as global users who want to leverage faster network speeds to improve performance. It can host OpenStack-based solutions including those from Blue Box, a recent IBM acquisition.
The new data center joins two other IBM Cloud data centers in Latin America: one in Hortolândia, São Paulo and another in Queretaro, México.
