Holcim Ecuador released its Sustainability Report for 2024-2025 on Apr. 8, outlining the company’s efforts to combine financial growth with environmental responsibility.

The report comes at a time when the construction sector is working towards recovery, and Holcim Ecuador said it is focusing on sustainable solutions as a key driver of its business. The company stated that more than 66% of its sales now come from sustainable products, which has helped it achieve double-digit growth across all business lines and secure a market share of 48%.

According to the report, Holcim Ecuador invested USD 56.8 million between 2024 and 2025, allocating over half—51.8%—to green initiatives such as clean energy projects and decarbonization measures. The company also reported reducing its carbon footprint by 15.3%, citing the use of electric machinery and vehicles as major contributors to this decrease in emissions.

The company highlighted its leadership in circular economy practices by operating what it says is the country’s first industrial waste sorting station in Samborondón, achieving a national recycling rate of 52%. In addition to environmental initiatives, Holcim Ecuador said it has integrated artificial intelligence into plant operations and trained staff in new technologies to improve efficiency.

On social impact, Holcim Ecuador reported benefiting more than 200,000 people through community programs focused on education, health care, and infrastructure development. The company also noted revenues of USD 384.6 million and recognition for corporate reputation by ranking first in its sector according to MERCO for eight consecutive years.

Looking ahead, Holcim Ecuador said that innovation and resource protection are central to industry development: “We build the future today.”
