The National Government, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and Energy and Empresa Eléctrica Quito (EEQ), has completed an upgrade of the medium and low voltage electrical networks in La Pulida Alta, located in Cotocollao parish. The work covered stages I, II, III, and Saquinaula Vaca passage.

With an investment of $91,077.79, the project included the installation of over 3 kilometers of medium voltage lines and 1.41 kilometers of low voltage lines. This modernization aims to improve the efficiency and safety of electricity distribution for both residential and commercial users in the area.

The upgrades also involved placing 47 new poles, five transformers totaling 312.5 kVA capacity, and 21 LED streetlights. These enhancements expanded public lighting coverage to previously unlit areas and replaced older lights in other parts of the neighborhood. According to officials, these measures are expected to enhance public safety and improve the urban environment.

As a result of this initiative, more than 2,000 residents now have access to a more reliable electric service that can accommodate future demand as the neighborhood grows.

“The National Government and Empresa Eléctrica Quito reaffirm their commitment to modernizing electrical infrastructure and continuously improving service by promoting projects that support efficiency, safety, and quality of life for citizens,” stated representatives from both organizations.
