The Government, led by President Daniel Noboa Azín, held a discussion with young people in Cuenca on Apr. 1 to highlight the effects of its public policies. The event, titled “El camino continúa, un diálogo de superación,” brought together beneficiaries of various social and educational programs.
Minister of Education, Sport and Culture Gilda Alcívar and Minister of Transport and Public Works Roberto Luque met directly with attendees who shared their experiences about how these initiatives have influenced their lives.
Participants included recipients from several key government programs such as the “Because He Is Nice” academic scholarship program, the EPJA (Education for Young People and Adults) project, Jóvenes en Acción which focuses on youth leadership development, Miti Miti, and Casa 100%, a program that provides fully subsidized housing to Ecuadorian families.
Britany Briones, a student in the EPJA program, said: “Today I feel proud to have resumed my path. In two months, I will finally graduate.”
Alcívar said: “Believe in education as the main engine of social transformation. Our mission is to strengthen each program so that your goals are achieved.”
Luque also spoke about ongoing support for these initiatives: “We will continue promoting these programs so they reach more beneficiaries. For us it is essential to listen to young people, learn their ideas and work according to their realities,” he said.
Through these efforts, the government confirms its commitment to inclusion and equity by promoting access to education completion as well as dignified housing as foundations for improving quality of life.
