The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture announced on March 10 the launch of a new cycle of webinars as part of the lead-up to the twelfth edition of the Feria Nacional CREA. The initiative aims to inform, inspire, and mobilize the national educational community by sharing experiences and providing tools for participation in CREA 2026.
The Feria Nacional CREA has been held eleven times and is known for promoting methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (ABP) and STEAM+H. According to the ministry, these approaches have helped transform classrooms and foster youth leadership.
The first webinar took place on March 10 at 3:00 p.m. via Facebook Live. Participants included Emilio Félix Romero, Undersecretary for Educational Innovation and Integral Development; Sebastián Concha Villanueva, National Director of Pedagogical Improvement; Laura Barba, Pedagogical Improvement Analyst; Maribel Jarrín, strategic advisor from VVOB Education for Development; Norkis Barrezueta, student winner of CREA 2024; and Maribel Salmerón, teacher winner of CREA 2024.
During this session, speakers discussed the history and impact of the fair from 2018 to 2025. They also focused on agricultural topics with an emphasis on climate change in order to strengthen environmental awareness among participants and encourage new project submissions for the upcoming edition.
The Ministry invites educators and students to join future webinars and submit their projects for consideration in Feria Nacional CREA 2026. The event is described as an opportunity to generate meaningful learning experiences while promoting environmental awareness and community engagement.
