The Subsecretary of Education, Sports, and Culture for the Metropolitan District of Quito, María José Moyano, participated in the Expoferia of the Red de Fortalecimiento del Bachillerato Técnico (REDTEC) Distrital 17D03 on March 13. The event highlighted the commitment of the educational system to quality technical training aimed at developing students’ skills and competencies.

During the expo, technical high school students presented projects that demonstrated their creativity, innovative abilities, and practical application of knowledge. These projects were the result of collaboration among educational institutions to strengthen relevant education in response to current challenges.

The expo served as a platform where academic learning was connected with practical experiences. Students applied their knowledge through proposals that combined technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving.

Moyano said it is important to create educational spaces that enhance student talent and strengthen the preparation of young people for today’s challenges. She also said that technical education plays a key role by forming students with critical thinking, autonomy, and productive capacities that contribute to social and economic development.

The event also helped reinforce ties between the educational community and technical training processes while encouraging students to continue developing projects that benefit their environment and personal growth.

According to organizers, Expoferia REDTEC reaffirms the commitment of Quito’s Subsecretariat of Education, Sports, and Culture to strengthening technical high school programs by promoting initiatives that support student talent and create future opportunities.
