The province of El Oro marked its 142nd anniversary of provincialization with a formal ceremony attended by national and local authorities, as well as members of the public, on April 24. The event featured symbolic acts, investment announcements, and recognitions for outstanding contributions to the province.
Luis Cabezas-Klaere, superintendent at the Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros, joined President Daniel Noboa and provincial prefect Clemente Bravo at the commemoration. Organizers said that the gathering helped strengthen cooperation among institutions and reaffirmed commitments to territorial development.
During his remarks at the event, prefect Bravo highlighted what he called “the fighting spirit” of people from El Oro and confirmed his commitment to carrying out projects aimed at advancing progress in the province. President Noboa said it was important to reinforce coordination between different levels of government in order to address local needs effectively.
A highlight of the ceremony was presenting awards to citizens and organizations recognized for their contributions in areas such as sports, culture, education, entrepreneurship, and social work. Posthumous tributes were also paid to individuals who have left a significant mark on El Oro’s history.
Cabezas-Klaere’s participation was described as reaffirming institutional support for initiatives that promote productive development, transparency, and strengthening Ecuador’s business sector.
