The Yacuambi-Zamora District of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture organized the Interinstitutional Educational and Sociocultural Fair in recognition of International Women’s Day, according to a March 20 announcement. The event aimed to provide adolescents, girls, and boys with information about services offered by government agencies and organizations related to violence prevention and psychosocial risk.

The fair sought to strengthen the educational community’s understanding of their rights while promoting safe environments based on respect, equity, and inclusion. These efforts were carried out through coordinated actions among institutions dedicated to supporting the well-being of children and adolescents.

Educational institutions participated alongside invited entities by setting up informational stands that shared projects, messages, and services focused on defending women’s rights, preventing violence, and encouraging equality. The program also featured artistic performances honoring women’s historical struggles. Students from various schools recited poems celebrating women’s greatness, courage, and resilience.

Attendees enjoyed musical performances by students as part of a day dedicated to reflection, awareness-raising, and artistic expression in honor of women. During the event, district director Vanessa Palma said: “la importancia de generar este tipo de espacios interinstitucionales que permiten informar, prevenir y acompañar a niñas, niños y adolescentes frente a situaciones de riesgo,” reaffirming the education sector’s commitment to building safer communities free from violence.

Diana Sánchez from the Department of Student Counseling (DECE) said: “el valor de trabajar de manera articulada en la prevención de violencias y riesgos psicosociales,” emphasizing that timely access to information strengthens student protection.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to advancing educational and sociocultural initiatives that promote equity, respect, and guarantee rights for girls, adolescents, and women.
