The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture (MINEDEC) has announced that it has paid USD 1.7 million in outstanding economic incentives for 2025 to athletes who are part of the High Performance Plan.

According to the ministry, these funds directly benefit athletes representing Ecuador in both national and international competitions. The payment is intended to support their athletic development.

A statement from the ministry said, “With this action, the National Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the National Sports System and providing ongoing support to athletes who, with discipline and dedication, raise Ecuador’s name in every sports arena.”

The government’s decision is aimed at ensuring continued backing for high-performance athletes and supporting their participation in major events.
