President Daniel Noboa Azin announced on February 23, 2026, that the government aims to deliver 200,000 housing solutions as part of a broad effort to increase employment and improve security in Ecuador. Speaking at the “Guayas, impulsa tu hogar con MITI MITI” event, Noboa handed over five homes from the “Los Prados” housing project under the Tu Casa “Miti-Miti” program led by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
The president emphasized that his administration is focused on inclusive housing programs for all segments of the population. Since taking office, 7,814 homes have been delivered nationwide through this initiative with a state investment of about USD 228 million.
“Our goal is to reach 200,000 housing solutions. While we build more homes, we generate more jobs and this means more security,” said President Noboa. He explained that these government-led housing programs are possible due to cooperation with private banks, allowing access to mortgage loans with an interest rate of 4.99%, a 5% down payment, and up to a 25-year term.
Roberto Luque, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, stated: “This is an initiative from the President that seeks for you to have a dignified life.” He added that currently there are 20,000 houses being built nationwide under the Tu Casa “Miti Miti” program.
During the event, citizens Luis Enrique Vinueza and Karen Georgina Madruñero received keys to their new home from President Noboa. Madruñero commented: “I am very happy and grateful to the president. What started as a dream is now a reality. Now my family enjoys a house that is in a club.”
The new homes include three bedrooms and are part of a planned community featuring over 6,000 square meters of green areas and communal gardens as well as covered spaces, children’s play areas, coworking spaces, gymnasium, swimming pool, multipurpose courts, gardens and walking paths—all developed according to sustainable construction standards.
President Noboa also highlighted another available option for families: Credicasa—a BIESS mortgage credit program offering what he described as Ecuador’s lowest-ever preferential interest rate at 2.99%. He encouraged families to participate in these housing programs.
