The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture announced on April 6 that it is opening more than 2,000 teaching vacancies as part of the Educa Empleo process for April. The initiative aims to fill positions in both the Costa–Galápagos and Sierra–Amazonía regions to ensure continuity in public and semi-public schools across the country.
This recruitment drive seeks to address institutional needs by strengthening staffing levels and maintaining stable educational processes in each school. The ministry said that candidates will be selected based on their professional qualifications through temporary contracts or provisional appointments. Priority will be given to teachers who demonstrate dedication and a commitment to educational quality. Vacancies include those created by retirements or resignations.
According to the schedule released by the ministry, applications will be accepted from April 6 to April 8 through its official website (www.educacion.gob.ec). Selected teachers are expected to join their posts on April 16.
Applicants must hold a registered third-level degree in education fields, have no current employment relationship with the ministry under LOEI or LOSEP regulations, possess a valid national identification card and Unique National Electric Code (CUEN), and meet specific requirements for English or bilingual specialties such as B2 certification or ancestral language proficiency certificates.
The Ministry of Education said these actions reaffirm its commitment “to strengthen quality public education, guaranteeing access, retention, and continuity of learning for children and adolescents throughout the country.”
