Dynacor’s Tumipampa project in Peru has yielded multiple high quality gold sites, the company said, and recently provided encouraging sample results from three sites.

Manto Dorado, whose roof assayed at an average of over 36 g/t has given new averages of 8.5 g/t from a new sample channel. The 31-meter channel into Manto Nazarenzo sampled at an average of 8.87 g/t of gold and 0.59 percent copper. The Lisa vein sample had an average value of 16.11 g/t, including just under a meter of 55.6 g/t.

Dynacor also discovered fourth site it calls Manto Nelly with an average sample of 4.8 g/t.

The discoveries add to the growing excitement about gold and copper mining in the mountainous area south of Peru’s ancient capital of Cusco. At least eight major mining companies have staked claims in the area, including Southern Copper, Buenaventura, Barrick, Yamana, IAMGold, Fresnillo, and China’s Junefield Group. Dynacor’s claim measures just over 18.6 square miles at altitudes between 13,700 and 15,700 feet. It adjoins a 355 million-ton gold and copper project owned by Southern Copper.

Dynacor began operations in 1996, when it opened it the Huanca-Acari gold ore-processing plant in the south of Peru. Dynacor is now the country’s second-largest processor of gold ore.
