Corporación Favorita announced on Apr. 22 the results of its sustainability and regional expansion efforts during 2025, highlighting achievements in Ecuador and across Latin America.

The company said that its actions have contributed to national development, environmental responsibility, and social impact.

In the past year, Corporación Favorita expanded with more than 30 new store openings in Ecuador, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Panama. The company opened new locations for Bebemundo and Sukasa in Costa Rica; launched Eureka educational toy stores and Nespresso boutiques in Ecuador; inaugurated Hiper Rey in Panama; and opened a Ferrex location in Paraguay.

The company also participated in the Foro Económico Internacional organized by CAF in Panama to strengthen regional connections. Through Grupo Rey—part of Corporación Favorita since 2018—the business has focused on supplier development and employment generation while facilitating exports from Ecuador to Central America.

Recognition for leadership came from organizations such as Ekos, MERCO, Great Place to Work, CERES and AEI for contributions including job creation and environmental commitment. In entrepreneurship support efforts like Misión Emprende 593 — Powered by Shark Tank Latam — Nina Solah took part as one of the sharks evaluating projects.

Social programs through Fundación Favorita addressed education, nutrition equality and emergency response throughout Ecuador during the year. Environmental advances included expanded recycling initiatives at Puntos GIRA locations as well as solar energy projects operated by Grupo Rey in Panama with over 18,400 solar panels installed at distribution centers and supermarkets.

Corporate volunteering activities under Alza la Mano involved employees from both Ecuador and Panama supporting nutrition programs education community assistance projects—and environmental care—adding hundreds of hours of service.
