The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), represented by advisor Tamara Quiroga, participated in the United Nations Global Compact meeting “From Ambition to Action” on March 19. The event marked the start of the annual agenda for the initiative and brought together more than 100 company representatives to renew the private sector’s commitment to sustainable development as a key factor for competitiveness.
The meeting opened with remarks from Flavio Fuertes, executive director of the initiative, and focused on three main areas: providing companies with practical tools to manage risks, transform value chains, and generate measurable impact; promoting collective action and collaboration among peers to enhance results; and encouraging business cases that integrate sustainability as a driver of growth and resilience.
Quiroga, who represents CAC on the Board of Directors of the Argentine Network of the Global Compact, moderated a panel featuring Mariana Jasper (Alurralde, Jasper y Asociados), Gaetano Salierno (Accenture), and María Rigou (EY). During their discussion, panelists shared experiences and reflections on how to integrate sustainability as a competitive advantage in business both locally and internationally.
“The meeting was an invitation to learn about concrete strategies aimed at strengthening organizational capacities and accelerating decisions aligned with social, environmental, and governance standards that are priorities in today’s global economic agenda. These are vital for generating competitiveness,” Quiroga said.
The event concluded with a collaborative working session designed to exchange ideas and create opportunities for cooperation. The goal was to turn ambition into action by scaling up the collective impact of sustainable business management in today’s global economic environment.
