Statistics released recently by Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade indicate thriving trade relations between Arab countries and Brazil.

The South American country exported $5.79 billion worth of products to the region during the first half of 2015. Exports to Qatar grew significantly at 28 percent from $152 million in the first half of 2014 to $195 million over the same period in 2015.

The UAE presented an increase of 7 percent to $1.29 billion in 2015 from 2014’s $1.19 billion.

Top exported products from Brazil to the Arab Nations were meat, sugar, ores, slag, ash and cereals. Meats generated revenues of $1.846 billion in the first half of 2015, an increase of 2.75 percent from $1.797 billion for the same period in 2014. Sugar, on the other hand, earned $1.267 billion, followed by ores, slag and ash collectively worth $757 million. Lastly, cereals garnered $160 million.
