Brazil-based Embraer recently sold 19 E175 airplanes to Skywest Airlines in a transaction valued at an estimated $843.6 million.

The list price for each E175 plane, which

features a new wingtip that improves aerodynamic performance, is $44.4 million. The transaction will be included in Embraer’s 2015 fourth-quarter backlog.

The aircraft will be flown by SkyWest Airlines, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, as part of an agreement with Delta Air Lines.

Delivery of the first aircraft is expected in the third quarter of 2016.

“All the E175s will be configured in a dual class 76-seat layout, equipped with 12 first-class seats, 20 ‘comfort’ seats and 44 main cabin seats, and will operate under the Delta Connection brand,” Embraer President and CEO Paulo Silva recently said.

In recent years, more than 80 percent of Embraer’s E175 orders have come from the United States.

This most-recent order follows another one by Skywest for 18 E175 units in September.

“[Embraer has] announced some 300 firm orders from U.S. airlines since 2013 in the 76-seats segment,” Silva said.
