The Bogotá Secretariat of Economic Development has introduced a new program called “Salvavidas al Empleo” through Resolution No. 070 of 2026. The initiative aims to support employers in Bogotá by offering financial incentives to encourage the retention of employees earning the legal monthly minimum wage.
According to the resolution, the program is a temporary and targeted economic measure designed to help maintain employment levels during challenging times. Employers who participate in the program will receive monetary benefits for each eligible employment contract they submit that meets specific requirements.
The incentive amounts differ based on the gender of the employee. Employers will receive 800,000 Colombian pesos for each contract with a female employee and 700,000 pesos for each contract with a male employee.
Once the registration period ends, the Secretariat will notify employers about deadlines, requirements, and procedures for submitting payroll information through public notice and via email.
“For more information, access the accompanying document,” stated the Secretariat in its announcement.
