A group of 25 Executive MBA students from Michigan State University visited the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) to learn about Argentina’s economic situation and explore business development opportunities in the country.
The session was led by Matías Bolis Wilson, head of the CAC’s Economics Department, and Julio Rodríguez Rabellini, coordinator of the same area. They began by outlining Argentina’s jurisdictional structure, highlighting key economic activities and discussing the geographic importance of different provinces within the national production framework.
The discussion then moved to some of the problems facing Argentina’s economy and its structural challenges. The presenters also described measures that the national government is taking to address these issues.
During the meeting, students asked many questions about how Argentina’s economy functions on a daily basis. Topics that generated significant interest included how companies and families make economic decisions during periods of inflation, how interest rates influence financial planning, and what impact currency depreciation has on the general public.
