Kyocera solar modules installed at Emilio Bacardi Group

The Emilio Bacardi Group headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico, recently went 100 percent solar with the installation of Kyocera Solar Inc.'s solar modules.

“We’ve installed Kyocera solar panels previously on our shopping centers, residences and other properties, so we know firsthand about their outstanding performance,” Leo Lebron, president of Dynamic Solar Solutions, said.

The system will produce 34,533 kilowatt hours (kWh) a year, providing all the power the facility requires. The solar modules are expected to pay for themselves in five years with the help of government incentives covering 30 percent of the cost.

“Kyocera solar modules have a track record for providing long-term, reliable PV electricity that supports businesses by stabilizing electricity costs to enable further growth,” Hitoshi Atari, president of Kyocera Solar Inc, said. “By installing Kyocera solar modules, the Emilio Bacardi Group headquarters not only gains a functional terrace with ample shade on its rooftop, but a strong competitive advantage.”

Electricity prices in the Caribbean are some of the highest in the world. Kyocera’s solar photovoltaic (PV) system delivers an economical solution to rising energy costs.

“We offer Kyocera solar panels exclusively to our customers because of their longstanding proven high quality,” Juan Carlos Díaz-Galarza, vice president of Operations for Caribbean Energy Distributor Corp., said. “So, it was an easy decision when it came to providing a solar system for our parent company.”
